This weekend, an astronomer spotted a small asteroid just hours before the space rock crashed into Earth's atmosphere and met its fiery demise. It was "probably a once-in-a-lifetime" moment, they said.

Scientists conducted experiments to create conditions replicating the hot gas in gigantic galaxy clusters. The hope is the experiment series will reveal more about the conditions within giant groups of galaxies.

All systems go for rollout of NASA's Artemis 1 moon rocket

US astronaut will still land on Russian Soyuz despite Ukraine invasion, NASA says

Geopolitical tensions won't keep an American astronaut and two Russian cosmonauts from returning to Earth together as planned this month. Mark Vande Hei and two cosmonauts will still travel home together on March 30.

Astra aces return-to-flight mission, deploys satellites for 1st time

NASA astronaut Mark Vande Hei breaks record for longest US spaceflight

When NASA astronaut Mark Vande Hei launched into space 11 months ago, he did not know how long he would be off the planet, let alone that he would be up there long enough to set any records. At 340 days and counting, he now has the U.S. record for the longest single spaceflight.

The Event Horizon Telescope is back to work to seek out exotic cosmic objects

The Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) is gearing up for its 2022 campaign, which includes seven days of remote observations. The telescope network will focus on dramatic objects around the universe including black holes, galaxies and quasars, which are superbright objects with black holes in the middle.

2 geomagnetic storms will lash Earth, but don't worry (too much)
