SpaceX fires up Starship ahead of 4th test flight (video)

SpaceX's next Starship vehicle has breathed fire ahead of its coming test flight. A 165-foot-tall (50 meters) Starship upper stage just fired up all six of its Raptor engines in a full-duration "static fire" test at SpaceX's Starbase site in South Texas, the company announced today (March 25).

3 spaceflyers arrive at the ISS aboard Russian Soyuz

Three spaceflyers have arrived at the International Space Station (ISS) after a roughly two-day orbital chase. Russia's Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft docked with the ISS today (March 21) at 11:03 a.m. EDT (1503 GMT), about 50 hours after launching from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

Hubble Telescope witnesses a new star being born

Hubble spotted the infant star slicing its way out of the nebula that birthed it when it zoomed in on the youthful multi-star system FS Tau. Located 450 light years from Earth, FS Tau is part of the Taurus-Auriga region. This region of space houses a stellar nursery of dark clouds of gas and dust, or "molecular clouds," that are home to numerous newly forming protostars and young stars.

SpaceX launching 23 Starlink satellites from Florida

SpaceX launched another batch of its broadband satellites to orbit this evening (March 25). A Falcon 9 rocket carrying 23 of SpaceX's Starlink internet satellites lifted off from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida today at 7:42 p.m. EDT (2342 GMT). The Falcon 9's first stage came back to Earth as planned, acing its vertical landing about 8.5 minutes after liftoff on the SpaceX drone ship A Shortfall of Gravitas, which was stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.
