It's a busy day here at Space.com as we work to bring you all things space news and science. This morning we saw the NISAR (NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar) satellite launch in India. This is a joint project between NASA and the Indian Space Research Organization as they use the satellite to scan Earth to monitor its many dynamic processes.
Other news includes the failed debut launch of Australia's first orbital rocket, Gilmour Space's Eris, as it began sliding sideways; a legal debate between the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum and the Trump administration over who owns (and should house) the Discovery space shuttle; and the first trailer of the third film in James Cameron's "Avatar" saga. We've got all that and more for your daily read.
