A rogue black hole wandering the space lanes of our Milky Way galaxy alone could be the smallest black hole yet found, according to one estimate of its mass.
The black hole is 5,000 light-years away and was discovered thanks to the power of its gravity to act as a gravitational lens, magnifying the light of a background star 19,000 light-years away. I
As summer nears, thoughts of fresh berries for strawberry shortcake are usually in order, but June is also blessed with what Native American cultures have nicknamed the Full Strawberry Moon, and this year is extra special as it will also be designated as a supermoon.
Here's what to know about the lunar event, the second of four consecutive supermoons through August.

The Crew 2 astronauts aboard SpaceX's Crew Dragon Endeavour moved the spacecraft to a different docking port at the International Space Station on July 21, 2021 to make room for a new commercial space taxi, Boeing's Starliner spacecraft, which launches July 30. (NASA TV)
The mission, called CRS-25, will send a robotic SpaceX Dragon capsule toward the International Space Station atop a Falcon 9 rocket.
CRS-25 was originally scheduled to launch on June 10, but NASA and SpaceX pushed the target date back to June 28 after noticing elevated vapor levels of hydrazine — the propellant used by Dragon's Draco thrusters — in part of the spacecraft's propulsion system.
France has officially joined the Artemis Accords, NASA's international agreement to establish best practices for ongoing cooperation on moon exploration.
"France is one of the United States' oldest allies, and our partnership in space exploration dates back more than half a century," NASA chief Bill Nelson said. "That partnership is strengthened by France's commitment to ensuring the peaceful and responsible exploration of outer space for generations to come."

The clash of two galaxy clusters in Abell 2146 is teaching astronomers about the kinds of "collisionless" shock waves that occur in our own solar system.
A space telescope that observes stars in the Milky Way as they appear today reveals what happened to the galaxy when it was just a couple of billion years old, and an upcoming data release will allow astronomers to peek into an even more distant past.
"You can reconstruct where groups of stars came from and which building block brought them into the Milky Way," one scientist said.
SpaceX can continue developing and testing its giant Starship vehicle in South Texas, provided the company takes pains to mitigate its impact on the environmentally sensitive area, a long-awaited review by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has found.
But SpaceX must take more than 75 actions to mitigate its environmental impact on the area.
The crew for the first mission in the privately funded Polaris program is scaling new heights to prepare for their record-breaking SpaceX flight later this year.
Because Polaris Dawn will feature the first spacewalk, or extravehicular activity (EVA), of a private astronaut, SpaceX has had to develop its own commercial EVA suits.
Getting a clear, detailed shot of the moon can be very satisfying and thankfully it isn't the most complex image to achieve. But to get a unique, interesting image of the moon is what sets a good photographer apart from the rest. A supermoon always presents a great opportunity to try and capture a special shot. Here's how to compose the perfect supermoon photo in time for the next one.
June's full moon, known as the Strawberry Moon, will come the same day the moon reaches the closest point in its orbit around the Earth, called perigee, creating a "supermoon" on June 14 at 7:51 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time in New York (1152 UTC) according to the U.S. Naval Observatory
