The next great observatory is sharpening its vision and well on the way to cracking mysteries of the universe. The James Webb Space Telescope has met every optical parameter engineers needed and is cleanly delivering light to its instruments.
Ingenuity's flying days on Mars have been extended once again. As part of this extension, Ingenuity will also sport some special upgrades that will allow the 4-pound drone to do even more daring flights.

The new image shows the "eye" of a galaxy called NGC 1097, which is located 48 million light-years away from Earth. NGC 1097 is a barred spiral galaxy, which puts it in the same category as the Milky Way.
"We weren't really expecting to see this decline, for the ice to be this much thinner in just three short years," Sahra Kacimi of the California Institute of Technology's Jet Propulsion Laboratory said of the new research.
