Watch SpaceX launch Crew-10 relief mission tonight!
(SpaceX)
Hey, Space Fans! It's Wednesday and we've got a packed one for you, complete with a new astronaut mission launching to the International Space Station that you can watch tonight. A SpaceX Falcon 9 will launch a new crew to the ISS on the Crew-10 mission to relieve "stranded" (they're not really stranded) NASA astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore - and two others - at last. Williams and Wilmore have been aboard the station since June 2024 when their Boeing Starliner capsule experienced thruster issues that turned a 10-day mission into a 9-month ordeal. Here's when and how to watch the launch tonight!

While we wait for SpaceX's Dragon launch of the Crew-10 astronauts, we'd like you to meet Andromeda XXXV. It's apparently the smallest galaxy we've ever found and we know a lot more about it today. "It's like having a perfectly functional human being that's the size of a grain of rice," scientists said.

On This Day in Space
NASA launches magnetospheric multiscale mission
(NASA)
On March 12, 2015, NASA launched four satellites on a mission to study a weird phenomenon in Earth's magnetic field called magnetic reconnection.
When Earth gets bombarded with plasma from the sun, our planet's magnetic field lines can break apart and reconnect. This releases huge bursts of energy in Earth's magnetic environment and can funnel charged particles into the atmosphere, creating pretty auroras. But exactly how and why magnetic reconnection happens is a bit of a mystery. See how it happened in our "On This Day in Space" video series!
