Then, early risers are rewarded with graceful planetary meetups: a crescent moon pairs with Saturn and Neptune on Thursday, followed by a stunning trio with Venus joining the scene on Friday. SIGN UP ⋅   WEBSITE   The Launchpad (NASA) NASA resurrects Voyager 1 thrusters after 20 years NASA engineers have miraculously revived the Voyager 1 interstellar probe's backup thrusters - components that hadn't been used since 2004 and were long considered fully defunct. This remarkable feat became necessary because the spacecraft's primary thrusters, which control its orientation, have been degrading due to residue buildup. If its thrusters fail completely, Voyager 1 could lose its ability to point its antenna toward Earth, therefore cutting off communication with Earth after nearly 50 years of operation. Read More (NASA) Norway 55th nation to sign NASA Artemis Accords Fifty-five nations have now penned their commitment to NASA's Artemis Accords. NASA announced Norway's decision to join the Artemis Accords for a "safe, peaceful, and prosperous future in space" as the space agency's website phrases it. Norway is the third country to join the Artemis Accords so far in 2025. A signing ceremony to welcome Norway took place today (May 15) at the Norwegian Space Agency in Oslo, with Norway's Minister of Trade and Industry Cecilie Myrseth signing on behalf of the Norwegian government. Queensland-based company Gilmour Space had aimed to debut its Eris rocket today (May 15), but a problem with the vehicle's payload fairing scuttled that plan. "Last night, during final checks, an unexpected issue triggered the rocket's payload fairing. No fuel was loaded, no one was hurt, and early inspections show no damage to the rocket or pad," Gilmour Space said via X this afternoon.
